Are there limitations on the material thickness for countersinking?

The main limitations on material thickness related to countersinking depends on the size of the countersink. If the countersink is too large it might poke through the material, causing interference with the mating part. The easiest way to check if your countersink is too large is to model it in cad to verify that it doesn't poke through the material.
